The other way is by enhancing the user experience, performance or features of a product at the same existing cost without compromising on its quality, reliability and safety.

VAVE is not limited to a stage after a product is designed developed/ released to the market. Even in Design and Engineering phases, Value Engineering is always in force – Value Engineering by Design. VE should start right at the beginning of a project where we can derive maximum benefits, with fewer changes, redesigns and reworks over the expected life of a product.
VE encompasses evaluating various alternatives to a design or a process through which a product or its subsystem and parts thereof can accomplish their functions optimally at the least possible cost. It needs a holistic approach, where subject matter experts work with designers and engineers to arrive at the best alternatives.
In a Value Engineering project we explore the possibility to Eliminate (avoid; make it non-essential); Substitute (replace with less expensive alternative material, components or processes); Combine (modify, commonize left and right brackets); We strive to make the parts multipurpose so that the value per part or value over cost is enhanced.
