Electric vehicles are driven by motors that are powered by rechargeable battery packs. The batteries are charged periodically by plugging the vehicle to a special charger which is tailormade for charging the EV batteries.

Though iSol started working with the EV industry more than a decade ago, more serious work has been happening for the past 2 years. Electric vehicles are gaining huge popularity in recent years because they offer multiple benefits that include almost zero emission, high efficiency, lower running costs and very less noise. A lot of Research and Development has been happening in Electric vehicles, the main focus being on developing high capacity, low weight, small size, efficient batteries. Very fast charging stations are a necessity to sustain the ever rising demand for electric vehicles. There is also an inverter and a charging circuit inside the EVs that need to be more efficient and cool in order for the driver and passengers to be comfortable inside an Electric Vehicle.

Electrical Vehicles pose their own challenge to Designers and Engineers. First, we are dealing with very high power/ current AC or DC. The product could be used privately or in public places. It could be indoors or outdoors. So the safety and regulatory standards for the product naturally become more stringent. It could be insulation, Fire retardancy, high power dissipation, structural strength against accidental impact or mishandling, protection against rain, dust, snow, etc., iSol is well aware of these requirements and is equipped to design and develop products to meet these standards.

Recently iSol carried out Product Engineering for a state-of-the-art futuristic Charging Device that is being well appreciated by one and all in the US market. iSol carried out complete Engineering and development in collaboration with the customer’s ID team. It is an IP56 compliant Device. In spite of the complex Design profiles and stringent requirements, the system and components were all engineered to perfection, that the product assembled and performed as expected right the first time. Even our manufacturing partners appreciate our designs due to the very same reason. We also carried out a series of Structural and Thermal Analyses to ensure that our design met the performance  requirements.

Apart from the Charging Station, we have carried out in the past, Product Engineering of an Inverter that goes into an Electric Vehicle. With our strong background in engineering, we are pitching to design and develop many more products in this domain.
