BTU Analyzer
Background
Natural gas is required to have a desired composition, heating value, and relative density, and compressibility when transported and delivered. In such situations, portable gas analyzers come in handy to analyze the natural gas for these critical parameters.
Project Scope
We designed and developed the product for the customer including Conceptualization, Detailed engineering, Development of Prototypes, and Release of Manufacturing Drawings.
Product Features
This natural gas chromatograph is a truly ‘portable’ analyzer designed around field-proven chromatographic techniques. The product can be used stand-alone or integrated onto a mobile platform such as a truck or other vehicle. The product has a reasonably big display where sample results including live chromatograms can be viewed, thus facilitating rapid analysis of results. The product has a USB port to retrieve Raw data and analysis reports, or directly pint or transfer to a computer.
Highlights
IP 65 ingress protected. As the production volumes were very low, the complete product was designed and engineered around a specific off-the-shelf IP65 compliant enclosure. Within the limitations of the off-the-shelf enclosure, iSol designed the panel with a good aesthetics and intuitive layout of all the functions, considering the User Ergonomics and Environment. iSol also engineered the internal pneumatic circuit and the structural components and ensured that the product was robust and durable.
As part of the Design validation, iSol also carried out various Finite Element simulation/ Analysis for Thermal performance of the product and proved the design was safe.
