Project Scope

We designed and developed the product for Diebold including Conceptualization, Detailed engineering, Development of Prototypes, Design Validation, Manufacturing Drawings Release, and Development of Parts. The design of Currency dispensing mechanism was not in iSol’s scope.

Highlights

Diebold has sold so many of this new design, that you might have even seen one next door! In spite of the complex shaped parts, particularly on the upper assembly, the product was designed to be easy for assembly and servicing while the parts were designed optimally for their respective Manufacturing processes. To facilitate front servicing, the Upper Front fascia was designed with gas springs to open like a car trunk door. As the fascia was a heavy metal part with plastic cladding, it was imperative that the fascia when opened would not swing back onto the service personnel due to its self-weight. iSol carried out Finite Element simulation/ Analysis for this and ensured that the design was safe.

We achieved a cost saving of about $300 per unit against their previous product.
