ACL Kit
Background
Rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the most common knee injuries. ACL primary repair with the SwiveLock ACL Repair Kit involves reattaching a torn ACL utilizing SwiveLock anchors and high-strength FiberWire and TigerWire sutures. The kit is convenient and contains all the surgical products needed for the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and Posterior Cruciate Ligament PCL repair technique.
Project Scope
We designed and developed the product for a Global Medtech Company focused on products used in surgical, post-surgical and chronic care, Including Detailed engineering, Development of Prototypes, Design Validation, CAE, Manufacturing Drawings Release, and Development of Parts.
Highlights
This was design and developed first time in India. Using Indian technology and inputs from Indian surgeons and hospitals.
Meets modern demands for implant preparation for ACL reconstruction. Contains all reusable instrumentation for implantation. It includes graft harvesting instrumentation along with tools necessary for sizing grafts, notch preparation, graft passing, Graft tables, Aimers, Jig, Strippers, Reamers, Dialatater, etc. Most of the instruments are designed and developed by us.
The material used for the box was Thermoform plastic material withstanding autoclaving (sterilization method that uses high-pressure steam up to 121°C) and it was Stiff and strong, lightweight. The holes were provided on the top and side surface of the box to allow autoclaving. Three layer construction was used with 2.5mm inside thickness and 3.5mm outside thickness. The overall dimensions is 630 X 340 X 140mm length, width, and height respectively. Quarter turn AeroLoc latches were used to lock the top cover of the box and handles were provided on both sides of the box.
